At PRIIA® minerale-derm Cosmetics, we have carefully selected our ingredients to not only be acne-safe but also benefical to acne-prone skin types. The raw materials in our products serve an important function to overall appearance, texture and performance. Unlike many other brands, our products are not full of ‘fillers’ and we don’t ‘fairy dust’. These high standards ensure the consumer an end product that actually contributes to the overall health of their skin; not just to look pretty in packaging.
We formulate mineral makeup that is free of any pore-clogging ingredients; even natural ones such as shea butter, coconut oil and so many others. Just because it’s a ‘natural’ ingredient doesn’t mean it won’t clog pores and contribute to acne breakouts.
Our entire minerale-derm® line is Vegan and Gluten-Free.
We also hold our furry friends close to our hearts- we DO NOT engage in animal testing, nor do we purchase from suppliers who engage in animal testing. We are certified VEGAN & CRUELTY-FREE through PETA’s Caring Consumer Program.
A Glimpse Of Our Acne-Safe & Skin Nurturing Ingredients
Aloe Vera Juice: The juice extracted from the pulp of the aloe barbadensis plant. It has been used topically since ancient times for its skin-soothing and potent moisturizing properties.
Bakuchiol: A gentle, plant-based non-toxic retinol alternative that effectively improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, helps to even the skin tone and improves skin cell turnover resulting in a brighter, smoother-looking complexion.
Belamcanda Chinensis Root Extract: Also known as BlackBerry Lily and has been clinically shown to be a potent 5a reductase inhibitor. This especially important for those with hormonal acne breakouts.
Bisabolol: Known as alpha bisabolol which is a derivative of the German Chamomile plant. It provides effective skin-soothing properties while boosting the overall vitality of the complexion. Bisabolol also aids with evening the appearance of uneven skin tone and improves the penetration of active ingredients.
Candelilla Wax: An acne-safe vegan plant-based wax used as an alternative to beeswax in cosmetic formulas including lip products, foundations and more.
Elderberry Extract: Elderberries are rich in vitamins A and C, which can help hydrate and moisturize the skin, leaving it soft and supple. It’s a powerhouse botanical that fights against acne breakouts, inflammation and fine lines and wrinkles. It also helps extend the shelf-life of anhydrous cosmetic formulations.
Ethically Sourced Mica: Mica is a silicate mineral used in cosmetics for its light-reflecting properties and ability to add luster, shimmer and sparkle.
Kaolin Clay: A mild clay, also called China Clay, that works well for absorbing excess moisture and sebum off the surface of the skin.
These inorganic pigments are made from combinations of natural metals, kaolin clay, sulfur and sodium carbonate. They are put through an ultra-refining and heat-treating process to produce their brilliant colors and to be considered safe for use in cosmetics.
Niacinamide: Niacinamide is the active form of Vitamin B3. A safe, non-irritating cosmeceutical ingredient which research shows can offer several skincare benefits such as improving the appearance of aged and photodamaged skin, improving skin moisturization, reducing the appearance of fine lines, stimulating collagen synthesis and improving skin barrier function.
Rice Powder: Rice powder has been used for centuries in Ayurvedic medicine to make soothing skin poultices and is a wonderful botanical substitute in place of using talc or cornstarch. It makes the skin feel cool and soft, has slow oil-absorbing properties, good moisture control and is non-comedogenic and non-acnegenic.
Rose Water: A gentle and soothing hydrosol which is steam distilled from rose petals. Rose water is excellent for soothing irritated and inflamed skin conditions such as acne. It’s extremely hydrating and balances the skin’s natural pH.
Silica Spheres: Silica is the most abundant mineral in the earth’s crust and most commonly found in nature as sand or quartz. It has amazing oil-control properties and because of the spherical shape, it scatters light and blurs the look of enlarged pores, fine lines and wrinkles. Silica also gives an amazing ‘slip’ or soft feeling to mineral makeup.
Zinc Oxide: Provides a silky smooth texture and offers good coverage in our formulas. Zinc is also known for it’s non-irritating effects on the skin.
