How To Choose The PERFECT Brow Color

Eyebrowsperfect If you want to look younger and create the perfect frame for your face then you must choose your brow color carefully.

Doing so doesn't have to be difficult.  The rule of thumb for brows is to choose a color that pretty much matches your hair color whether it's natural or applied.  However, there are a few 'exceptions' to this unwritten rule.  See below for an easy reference chart.

Hair Color:

  • Light blonde– same as hair color or light taupe
  • Medium to deep blonde– same as hair color

  • Auburn/red– same as hair color

  • Light brown– same as hair color or medium taupe

  • Medium to deep brown– same as hair color or deep taupe

  • Dark brown to black– one shade lighter than hair color

  • Grey or silver– for those with ivory/beige/light olive skin tones, use a light taupe color.  For those with deep olive/bronze/ebony skin tones, use a light to medium golden brown.  DO NOT use a grey or silver pencil because it will only make you appear older.

Look for brow products that are matte in appearance and have no shimmer and shine to them.

The biggest rule of thumb for brows is to use a soft, feather-like touch.  Heavy, exaggerated and overdrawn brows only will age you and no one wants that.  Say "NO" to the Joan Crawford look!
